Weekly Newsletter

January 31, 2015

While on a safari trip we followed the natives this week. We built huts to show how the natives live. We made:
Beaded bracelets to represent our status.
Drums to play during festivities.

This week we also took the time to learn about peace and what Martin Luther King Jr. stood for. The children learned the peace symbol in sign language and used it throughout the day.

100th Day of School

We are counting to 100 EVERYDAY.
On Jan. 28 we are having our 100th day of school celebration. I ask that each child brings in something with 100 items on it. For example…
T-shirt/ Hat with 100 dots, 100 buttons, etc.
Card board with 100 items glued on it
Be creative as you would like to be. I am excited and cannot wait to see what the children bring in 🙂

Valentine’s Day

One shoebox needed for each student by Feb. 1
We will decorate the shoeboxes in class!
We will be exhanging valentines with our classmates:

  • Liam
  • Carson
  • Josiah
  • Camille
  • Noah
  • Joy
  • Stella
  • Kourtlynn
  • Cole
  • Aizen

Please bring valentines to school beginning Feb. 8th, so we can have time to “deliver” them into our shoeboxes.

Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness

“Do not let kindness and truth leave you. Tie them around your neck. Write them upon your heart.” -Proverbs 3:3 NLV

We are digging deeper into the story of Daniel and the Lions Den. The children made crowns to represent King Darius and what royalty usually wear upon their heads. We learned the difference of being led by God and being led by people.
